Fundraising Information

Online and Social Fundraising

On average, people who use social media raise six times more than those that don’t. Work with us to create an online fundraiser to be featured right here on researchms.org. It’s easy and convenient.

1. Fundraise for Your Race or Create a Fundraising Team
New! Whether you’re participating in the TRIFEST for MS or a local 5k, you can use our website to host your own fundraiser.

2. Give your Birthday
New! Create your own birthday fundraiser to be featured right here at researchms.org. For example, turning 35? Contact us and we’ll work with you in creating an online fundraiser for you. Share with friends and family asking them to “donation your birthday” ($35) to help fund MS research.

3. Join Team Endurance
Triathletes commit to a fundraising minimum of $750. We work with you to create your own fundraiser and provide ongoing fundraising support. You also are immediately linked to our current 30 members of Team Endurance for MS. In exchange for your commitment, we provide you with a Team Endurance for MS uniform you can wear during your race.

Initial Fundraising Ideas

According to a recent survey, 50% of people said they give because “a friend asked me”. Consider these 12 fundraising ideas.

  1. Host a giving party. Choose a cause, throw a party and ask friends to pay a “cover charge” and donate all proceeds to the Rampy MS Research Foundation.
  2. Have a good birthday. Instead of birthday gifts, ask people to support your fundraising effort. Turning 15? 27? 43? 50? Ask friends to donate an amount based on the age you’re celebrating. (One of our 13-year-old racers did this one year and raised over $200!)
  3. Start matching. Ask a friend to match the cost of your race registration with a donation.
  4. Snowball your fundraising. Some friends and family may not be able to donate. Instead, ask them to join your effort by becoming a member of your fundraising team or by finding someone to give in their stead.
  5. Makes the miles count. Ask people to pledge a set amount for each mile you complete.
  6. Show, don’t just tell. Make a video about why you support MS research. In the video, ask friends and family to donate. Share the video at your next family gathering.
